Verses on Grudges
‘"Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.’”
Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness, no one will see the Lord. 15 See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.
1 Corinthians 13:4-5
Love is patient, love is kind. it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
A person’s wisdom yields patience; it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense.
“Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.”
For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.
Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. 37 Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
So watch yourselves. “If your brother or sister sins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them. 4 Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them.”
Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, of it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.
