1 John 3:1
See what great love the Father has lavished on us,
that we should be called children of God!
And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
For the Lord will not reject his people; he will never forsake his inheritance.
The poor and needy search for water, but there is none; their tongues are parched with thirst. But I the Lord will answer them. I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.
He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem. 4 Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, sticker by him, and afflicted.
The Lord your God is a merciful God; he will not abandon or destroy you or forget the covenant with your forefathers, which he confirmed to them by oath.
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.
Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me.
“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? though she may forget, I will not forget you! 16 See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.
